You may receive an EU grant for various purposes related to the development of your company – including expansion, purchase of innovative machinery or modern production equipment, changes in the production process or in the manner of providing services.

The greatest chances for subsidies have investments in R&D, advanced information and communication technologies, environmental protection, foreign expansion and projects related to industrial transformation.

In 2021-2027, the well-known POIR (Operational Programme Intelligent Development) will be continued by the Programme European Funds for Modern Economy.

The FENG (European Funds for the Modern Economy) program for 2021-2027 has specific objectives which are:
  • Increase research and innovation capacity;
  • Development towards the use of advanced technologies;
  • To develop competencies towards smart specialization,
  • entrepreneurship and industrial transformation;
  • increase competitiveness of SMEs;
  • transformation of economy towards green technologies and Industry 4.0.
    • Support can be granted to projects that are in line with these ideas, i.e. initiatives that will contribute to the achievement of the above objectives. This applies above all to business investments in R&D, innovations, digitalization, advanced technologies, internationalization, sustainable development and environmental protection.

    The program European Funds for Modern Economy 2021-2027 is a continuation of two previous programs, Innovative Economy 2007-2013 and Intelligent Development 2014-2020. The new program also supports R&D, but in a wider range than before.

    There are various research and development projects that can be funded, including those related to the purchase of new equipment and machinery, the creation of new technological lines, the implementation of repair and construction work, the implementation of new innovative solutions or the development of product or process innovations.

    The new European Funds for the Modern Economy Program 2021-2027 introduced the concept of MID-CAP companies. This term defines companies with more than 250 employees and divides them into two categories:
  • SMALL MID-CAP – having the status of a small mid-cap company with no more than 499 employees,
  • MID-CAP – those with mid-cap status that employ up to 3,000 employees.
    • Companies in the new categories will receive special privileges and support – they will be included in most of the support instruments offered by the European Funds for the Modern Economy (2021-2027).
    Research and development project costs primarily include:
  • expenses related to the purchase or preparation of a prototype production line;
  • gross salaries of R&D department employees and technical staff
  • costs of using subcontractors, who will be
  • commissioned to perform certain tasks in the project
  • costs of renting the space necessary for the implementation of the project, as well as the rental or leasing of equipment and devices used for research purposes;
  • all costs of raw materials and consumables necessary for research;
  • intangible assets, which include patents, licenses,
  • know-how and other intellectual property rights.
